From the light in my room,
I see the night outside
As it eats and consumes
On its treacherous ride

Everyone screams and cries
Giving into the night
None ever even try
To be brave for the light

There are those who stand,
I myself am included,
That won’t give into the hand
That won’t ever be deluded

Alone, we fight for days and weeks
Searching for a soul to share the pain
Once found, we can end the days so bleak
Once found, everyone will know our names

I think of myself as something of a philanthropist. I want to see the end of poverty, and suffering, and corruption. I'm also the kind of person who is willing to work towards ridding the world of such. To me, that's what this poem is about; fighting to make the world a better place. Although, if this poem means differently to you, please share! The meaning for art is up to interpretation, so your points are as valid as mine! :)
Please favorite and watch! <3

this is a very powerful message delivering poem you made and you know like the millions of people out there in this world we all want to end poverty because its a serious thing and many parts of this world is swarming with poor hungry people and we wanna do something about this and not that half a million people still dont wanna contribute to donating and supporting the causely needs to ending poverty for spread the good wealth of feeding millions of homeless! but with a poem like yours this has to be tweeted to the president seriously when he opens his heart and realize just how touching your poem is ! he'll have to do something about the poor crisis that homeless people are experiencing and thats an issue we have to do something about it i can totally relate this this poem and with thousand words like yours in this poem iam sure this will reach out to the millions of people out here so lets take action and make this poem popular! and as i read this poem i can feel what its like to be poor how it feels like to be hungry all the time what it feels like for no one to care about my safety and where iam gonna sleep at rather then the streets at night so for that it should also be shown to anderson cooper he'll be totally touched with this outstanding poem you wrote and i wish the luck for ending hunger throughout the whole world so bravo i love this poem!:thumbsup:

This poem is more aimed at suffering in general, which includes poverty. For actually tackling the issue of poverty, there are better works of art out there that are geared towards the issue itself. But hey, the meaning's all up to interpretation, so I can't really argue. I'm glad this poem meant so much to you. :)
